Teritary

I'm assigning you a third operative, the commissioner said in between puffs of cigarette, the kids need training and your assignment is simple enough. Sir with all do respect sergeant Kal began. I dont want to hear it. The commissioner interrupted, its abandoned house and you three are going to raid it with you as the leader. With that both parties exited the room. Alright the mission is simple Kal began, this is an abandoned mob house, we've been investigating it for weeks now and we believe our targets are held up here, remember check your corners and we clear this together. Sir yes sir Pvt Jessup, and the rookie known as Gator responded. The team entered the house through a window on the second floor. The building was three floors altogether. The sweep of the second was quick, Jessup dropped a drone to scout the first floor while Kal and gator swept the third floor. Keep communications clear boys, only report important things. Hey boss, Jessup came in over the walkie, we have bodies, and what looks like a trail of carnage that leads to the basement, other then that first is clear. Jessup make your way downstairs and we'll meet you down to clear the basement. The third floor was totally empty besides what looked like a child's doll made of straw. Gator picked the doll up, and turned to give the all clear, Kal nodded and they made their way back towards the stairs, a ball began to roll towards them from a side room. Kal turned with his gun raised and made his way to the door, the room was empty. Jessup, Kal began over the walkie, we have movement do you copy? there was no response, Gator and Kal ran downstairs to find no sign of Jessup, just his helmet and gun sitting on a table. What the fuck Jessup, Kal whispered over the walkie, where are you? Gator put that damn doll down and help me find Jessup, Gator was no longer behind Kal, instead, a small girl was standing in his place, Kal raised his gun and the girl disappeared. Kal produced a small laptop from his jacket, he set it down and began typer, Command this is sergeant Kal, the blacksite is active and my squad is gone, Im beginning the firebomb. Kal looked up from the laptop, the girl was now directly in front of him. You should have brought more then three she said before grabbing Kal and disappearing.

Active

I had been dreading the doctor's appointment, I knew what was coming. High School was one of the very low points of my life and it led me to take up some bad habits. I was a homebody who liked to eat and highschool had all the unhealthy food I could eat. I knew exactly what news was coming. It would be the same thing they had told me last year but to a more extreme degree. It didn't occur to me until I knew I had the appointment how bad it had gotten. Last year I was 20 pounds overweight and this year I was at least 40 pounds overweight, I was nearing the 200 pound mark and at 5’7 with little muscle that wasn't where I should have been. Sure enough, after seeing my weight chart the doctor gave me and my mom the bad news. “So it seems here you've gained some weight from your last visit and your weight is getting into the red zone, you need to be more active”. Hearing this was sort of a wake-up call for me and the following summer I decided it was time for a change. I spent my summer going into senior year biking and running every single day no matter the weather. Eventually, I began to notice a change, I was now down to 190. I continued the trend by cutting out fast food and eating better meals. I was going into my senior year down from 197 to 170, it wasn't much but I was glad to be losing the weight healthily, by the time my next doctor visit rolled around a few months down the road he was happy to say that I was a healthy weight at 5 '9 150.

Essentials

Let’s see here, phone, wallet, and uh. Oh! I exclaimed, my pocket knife! I exclaimed running back into my house. I grabbed it off the top of my dresser and tucked it into my pocket. Okay now that's everything time to go. I put my keys in the ignition and mapped my route to my friend’s house. He lived on an absolutely beautiful lake and I was excited to go spend the night with my friends. His house lay tucked away in a rural wooded area, a thick coat of snow layered the ground and I knew I had to drive slow in his area cause the streets most likely were not plowed. Getting off on the freeway I grabbed my phone to tell him I would be there soon, I didn't notice the deer shoot out of the woods right in front of my car, the windshield smashed against the weight of the deer as my car careened off the side of the road and into a lake, dazed but not unconscious I assessed my surroundings, that's when the freezing cold water hit my leg, I shouted as the shocking cold of the water froze me to my bones. I reached to unlatch my seatbelt when I noticed it was jammed. Shit I whispered to myself, water began to pour over my dashboard onto my lap but at this point, adrenaline had kicked in, I reached into my pocket and grabbed my knife and began to cut myself free, only the passenger side and part of the front had begun to submerge, it was my lucky day. I smashed my driver’s side window open and hurled myself out into the water and began to swim to shore. A nearby homeowner had heard the commotion and had seen what happened so it didn’t take paramedics long to get me. To this day i thank God for always having my essentials

Atomic Car

“Hey man you don’t got to do this” a voice crackled out over the walkie

“Yea there’s other ways we can close to the tunnel and stop the insurgence”

“No, this is the only way” I replied, turning the radio off. The whine of the supercharger was the only thing I wanted to hear in my final moments. My 1970 Dodge charger had seen better days but she's done a great job taking me where I need to go, and I know for a fact no one at base camp knows how to take care of her like I do. I shifted into 4th hearing the car roar to life as I hit 70. Weaving in and out of totaled cars was a hassle but I had seen all the fast and the furious movies before the collapse so I was more than prepared. Over the horizon I could see the tunnel, the insurgency had already begun setting up a blockade. I looked back to see the payload sitting in the back seat, red light blinking.

“God, I hope monkey rigged everything up properly” I said to myself as sweat bagan dripping down my face, my nerves were getting to me. I saw an alarm start to go off in the distance, they've seen me. Shifting up another gear I flipped open a button on my steering wheel, I grabbed the crucifix necklace off my neck and slapped the button, the car shot forward into a wheelie as I hit 200 mph. The gates began to close but I narrowly made it through with seconds to spare. Bullets began hitting my windows, through the new holes I could see light shine through the foggy car. As my driver side window was shot out I stuck my hand out to give everyone the bird one last time. A few seconds later I was in the darkness of the tunnel. The tunnel sat inside the bottom of a medium sized mountain and if i could detonate this bomb it would bring the whole thing down giving my boys plenty of time to set up against the insurgency. I reached down and grabbed the detonator. Back at home base about 30 miles away from the tunnel a scout could see a large flash of light in the distance, followed by a shockwave knocking him out of the tower. Radio chatter was a mixture of

“That crazy son of a bitch did it.” and “Well what do we do now?”

What if I rewired this?

I began to take apart the Ps3 i bought off ebay. I didn't need it for anything special, just a certain wire that had malfunctioned on my prototype.

“Lets see, connect that there, sodder this here, plug that in to the heat sink, and make sure the cooler is running. Bingo!” I shouted as the machine hummed to life, I pulled my goggles off my face and started in awe at my creation. Wasting no time i picked it up

“Lets see here.” i said setting the dial to 1942. Pushing the button on the center of the device I was blinded by a flash before appearing in an open corn field.

“Oh there is no way this actually worked.” I said with nervous glee putting the device in the pocket of my cargo shorts. I sprinted over to the nearest town an old Chevy master deluxe passed me.

“Holy shit it actually worked, i can't spend too much time here.” reaching back into my pocket I grabbed my time machine and set the time back to right after i left. I landed on the floor in my room, looking up. I noticed someone sitting in my bed, scared I jumped up grabbing the switchblade I had placed on my dresser for situations just like this one.

“Who are you?” I said shakely holding the knife out in front of me.

“Relax buddy, don't you recognize me?” The person said walking into the light of my lamp. I dropped my knife. Standing before me, was me, except older.

“How this doesn't make any sense, well I mean?” I stammered, I knew how it was possible but at the same time my brain wasn't ready for this.

“You have to break the time machine, if you keep it you're going to unravel reality.” The older version of me said holding his hand out.

“Wait there's got to be another way.” I stammered out. Older me lunged forward grabbing the machine and in a blink he disappeared. Shocked at what had happened i dropped back to my knees, i was so stunned i didn't know what to do

Army soldiers

Max put is imaginary MG on the side of the play set

“Pew pew pew pew!” he said with enthusiasm “I'm covering you guys move up!”

Dan and Mark army crawled across the grass dodging imaginary bullets and enemies.

“Were almost there guys!” Exclaimed Mark, slightly winded and covered in grass stains. Mark just up from the ground .

“Pew pew pew, there's too many of them!” Mark turned to yell, he then dropped to the ground letting out a dramatic “AHHH! They got me! I need a medic!” Dan crawled to his side pulling out a medkit and reviving Mark, Max came running up alongside them.

“Guys, I'm really thirsty, can we grab some water?” he said slightly out of breath.

Just then Max's mom opened the door.

“C'mon  in little soldiers, i made you guys food!”
